Collaboration

Whether it takes place in boardrooms or open-plan offices, seminar rooms or conference centres, daily collaboration and direct dialogue between teams and colleagues, partners and customers is a success factor for every company, regardless of department or location. Using the latest technology such as digital signage, visitor guidance systems, Smart Sympodiums or 3D projections, we can offer your company the right solution to increase the efficiency and productivity of your everyday collaboration - even in the most challenging environments. Please see a selection of potential collaboration solutions below.

Conference Rooms

Pure video conferencing rooms serve only one purpose - video conferencing. Similarly to telepresence rooms, everything is optimised for successful video conferencing. Video communication also transforms previously unused, windowless rooms into productive environments.

Despite the continuing rapid proliferation of video communication, ordinary meeting rooms are still in the clear majority. Usually, video communication equipment is added to existing rooms, or there are no free rooms available.

When constructing multipurpose collaboration rooms, the task is to equip the room for optimum use in a variety of scenarios. The challenge is the diversity and complexity of the overall design.

DEKOM’s many years of experience help in choosing the right components to achieve the objective of a conference room ideally equipped for all purposes.

Meeting Points

Design meets digital signage

Meeting points are the perfect place for you and your employees to socialise and speak to customers in a more casual and relaxed atmosphere. This will make even breaks an asset to your company.

By equipping meeting points with large format monitors, you can conveniently provide your employees with company information or important TV events at any time using CMS and IP set-top boxes.

Information systems of this type are often grouped under the term “digital signage”. Strictly speaking, this refers to networked (audio)visual information systems with content which can be controlled by a program or manually compiled.

In a nutshell:

  • unobtrusive integration of media technology
  • straightforward provision of company news, etc.
  • centralised content management

Seminar Rooms

Reliable media technology - essential for presentations

Reliable media technology is essential for presentations and modern seminar rooms. Today, course material and audiovisual teaching content is used digitally, and integrating this technology makes classes more efficient. Various solutions may be used depending on the size of the room.

Large screen monitors on elegant, high quality and height-adjustable carts are used for mobile use in small to medium-sized seminar and meeting rooms.

Cable clutter is a thing of the past as the signal cable runs from the monitor to the foot of the cart via an integrated cable duct, and is connected to a floor box. The floor box is connected to a desk connector panel, allowing convenient signal transmission without visible cables.

In large seminar and conference rooms, permanent projectors or monitors are installed at the back for participants. When stand projectors are used, rear projection screens are lowered from the ceiling using an electric motor. The picture is projected from a backwards-facing projector in the ceiling.

In a nutshell:

  • customisable mobile conferencing solutions with hidden cabling
  • permanently installed projection solutions for larger rooms
  • integrated signal transmission via desk connector panels and floor boxes

Board Rooms

Invisible technology in a relaxed atmosphere

Exclusivity and prestige are the defining characteristics of boardrooms. The integrated technology must be unobtrusive and reliable in order to ensure a relaxed and effective conference atmosphere. Visually, the technology blends into the background, but it can be quickly and conveniently deployed when needed.

Projectors may be lowered into position using ceiling lifts powered by electric motor, and retracted after the end of the presentation. The appearance of the ceiling lift frame is matched with the ceiling so that the projector is completely invisible when retracted.

If presentation monitors are used, we recommend using sideboards with integrated lifts powered by electric motor. The design and veneer are exactly coordinated with the other room components. The monitors are raised when needed, and retracted into the sideboard when not in use. This completely coordinates the furniture with the atmosphere of the room.

In a nutshell:

  • unobtrusive integration of technology
  • produces an elegant impression
  • clear away at the touch of a button

Conference Centres

Convenient management, efficient use

The efficient use of your conference centre depends on it's management. Room confusion and meeting disruptions are a thing of the past, as digital door plate systems allow the room occupancy display to be conveniently controlled from a central location. More detailed information on room occupancy, times of use and other can also be displayed. In addition, interactive terminals are a time-saving and efficient visitor guidance system.

Small surface or flush-mounted monitors are installed in each conference room to display room booking content. Content to be displayed is transmitted over the network from a central location to the digital door plates using content management software.

Along with their use as visitor guidance systems, interactive terminals also offer the opportunity to conveniently provide information about products, services or marketing campaigns. Touchscreens quickly and easily take visitors to the content they want at the touch of a finger. Numerous companies use systems of this kind, such as for displaying canteen menus on large monitors.

In a nutshell:

  • convenient room occupancy display
  • customised corporate design
  • interactive information terminals

Oil Rigs & other High Security Environments

Safety first

Compliance with applicable safety standards is an absolute prerequisite for working in environments with strict safety requirements.

Regular safety checks are carried out on all electrically powered devices used in these applications. As well as compliance with the applicable safety standards, the technology must have maximum availability. This can be achieved through redundant systems and regular maintenance. If a non-redundant component malfunctions contrary to expectations, solution scenarios can be created with our support team to allow the technology to be used despite the fault.

In a nutshell:

  • compliance with the strictest safety standards
  • redundant component configuration

Integrated Collaboration Environment

In a nutshell:

  • direct collaboration between teams at different locations
  • seamless integration of system components
  • interactive data editing in presentation mode

Communication on all levels

An integrated collaboration environment allows efficient collaboration between teams at geographically separate locations. All participants have access to the documents which are to be discussed and edited (Microsoft OCS, Microsoft Lynx, application sharing, WebEx). All participants can see and hear each other (telephone and video conferencing) and record their ideas and notes using an interactive whiteboard during brainstorming sessions. Even three dimensional objects can be made visible to everyone using integrated object or document cameras or visualisers.

The dual monitor workstations integrated into the conference table provides all participants with direct access to the systems and components. A lift is used to raise the monitors from inside the table; they can also be retracted when not required, leaving the full table surface free for spreading out plans etc. The visualiser is also available immediately without assembly and connection when required. It can be mounted in the ceiling or table with a lift, and a touchpanel allows convenient switching. The remarkable feature of this type of system is that all essential components such as the monitors, keyboard, mouse, etc. are ergonomically integrated into the furniture.

Smart boards with ultra short throw projectors and smart sympodiums for actively editing data during presentations and/or content sharing are a further highlight of the integrated collaboration environment.

3D Rooms

Trendsetting technology for project planning

The third dimension is playing an increasingly important role in presentations - particularly during the development process for workpieces or other objects. This makes objects more tangible and further aids imagination.

Enhancement from two to three dimensional projection is traditionally achieved by using two polarised picture signals, which create a three dimensional image for the viewer when wearing 3D glasses. Projection systems of this type comprise at least two conventional projectors (or one projector with two objectives) which each project overlapping images with different polarisation onto a screen.

With modern autostereoscopic 3D displays, however, no special glasses are required. A screen with microprisms causes the eyes to see different images - in extreme cases, up to seven visual axes simultaneously. Media technology is one of the first commercial applications of this technology - contact us, and we would be happy to advise you.

In a nutshell:

  • more efficient product planning phases
  • clear presentations
  • projections with polarisation filter technology
  • autostereoscopic displays
