DEKOM AG has again funded a scholarship in the current winter semester, the „Deutschlandstipendium“, and thus supports an outstanding student of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at the Technical University Wildau.
The „Deutschlandstipendium“ is awarded to support talented students whose careers give cause to expect outstanding achievements in study and work, and to acknowledge and ease social and community involvement while studying.
In that regard, the underlying concept of performance is deliberately flexible: in addition to good grades and academic performance, special family, social and personal circumstances are taken into account as well. These include, for example, diseases and disabilities, care for dependent relatives or children, study-related activities, or an immigrant background.
The scholarship recipients receive an income-independent amount of Euro 300 per month (regardless of federal financial aid) for at least two semesters within the standard period of study, in order to be able to successfully focus on their college education.
The „Deutschlandstipendium“ is funded together by federal and private funding organizations (corporations, foundations, associations, etc.) already since summer semester 2011. Meanwhile, three-quarters of all state and state-recognized universities in Germany and more than 4,000 sponsors are participating in the program.
