Whiteboarding and interactive collaboration
In 2024, Google discontinued the Jamboard application as part of Google Workspace and the associated support for Jamboard devices. As an alternative whiteboarding tool, Google ensured that third-party collaboration software, such as FigJam (Figma), Lucid, or Miro, could be easily integrated into Google Workspace so that Google Meet users could continue to collaborate.
As an alternative to the Google Jamboard, the former interactive whiteboard connected to the G Suite, Google has partnered with Avocor to develop the Google Meet Series One Board, a 65-inch all-in-one display that allows users to join Google Meet video conferences directly.

Is Google Meet free?
Google Meet is available for free to anyone with a Google account. However, the free version offers a limited number of features, including a call duration of up to 60 minutes per conference. For organizations, it is advisable to consider one of the four subscription options, which provide access to extended features.
How many participants does Google Meet allow?
The free version allows up to 100 participants to participate per call.
The maximum number of participants increases with the different subscriptions:
- Business Starter subscription: Up to 100 participants.
- Business Standard subscription: Up to 150 participants.
- Business Plus subscription: Up to 500 participants
- Enterprise Subscription: Up to 1000 participants
Is Google Meet secure?
All Google applications have built-in security mechanisms by default, such as spam filters and virus scanners. All communications are encrypted and data is processed and stored in accordance with the GDPR. Additional security and management features in the “Enterprise version” make use even more secure.
