A Room system requires the following components
The basic installation of a Room system for videoconferencing consists of a camera, audio input and output, a display, a Room PC or codec, and a control panel.
The right combination of components is critical for natural and smooth communication. Hardware selection criteria depend on the application, room size, and other factors. Depending on the type of space and requirements, a compact system or an all-in-one solution may be sufficient; the larger the space and the higher the requirements, the more demanding the components.

Individual components
All-in-one for small meeting rooms
Small meeting rooms, huddle rooms, or meeting points are ideal for short meetings in hybrid teams. These rooms are usually small and need to be available to different teams quickly and intuitively.
High-end all-in-one solutions are often ideal here, as they are specifically designed for short camera distances, small groups and good sound quality. It is important that the devices are intuitive to use, can be used without extensive preparation, and are BYOD ready.
Meeting rooms for up to 12 people
Getting the most out of medium-sized meeting rooms requires individual decisions: For smaller rooms, an all-in-one solution can provide the desired video and audio quality. For larger rooms, however, we recommend a modular solution to ensure the best meeting experience.
Also consider how the room will be used and answer the following questions
- How many people, on average, will participate in the videoconference?
- Is videoconferencing sufficient or do you need a true collaboration tool?
- Do you want to be able to share content from personal devices?

High-end room systems for 10 or more people
In large meeting rooms, such as training rooms or boardrooms, excellent video and audio quality is essential to meet all requirements.
To achieve this, we recommend using PTZ cameras that offer flexible framing and high resolution. Well-placed ceiling microphones or noise-canceling table microphones provide excellent audio quality and reliable speech recognition. Also consider whether wireless microphones are desired and which elements should be controlled using the touch controller.
