The start of the new year has seen DEKOM AG (formerly ViDOFON AG) implementing their own environmental code of practice.
By supplying environmentally friendly technology, DEKOM AG (formerly ViDOFON AG) is already making their own contribution towards improving the global climate and protecting the environment. The use of global video conferencing in particular will in future allow a vital reduction in CO2 emissions. Video conferencing makes many business trips unnecessary. Every company that decides to use video conferencing will therefore be helping to protect our environment and global resources while also gaining a crucial competitive edge.

Nonetheless, even DEKOM AG (formerly ViDOFON AG) has a responsibility to make internal processes environmentally friendly, and hopes that by following the code they will be a model to their customers. Meetings with international DEKOM (formerly ViDOFON) staff, for instance, are always held by video or audio conference. Important appointments on customer premises are also carefully planned and conducted so as to minimise the environmental impact. Employees are required, for instance, to combine appointments in the same regions and time periods, or to use environmentally friendly methods of transport. Among other things, the code also contains objectives such as using open communication and internal instructions to raise awareness among all employees of legal and regulatory obligations to protect the environment.

“Our resources are not infinite. We must use them responsibly, both ecologically and economically speaking. Following this code offers us the opportunity, in addition to our video conferencing products, to make a valuable contribution to protecting our climate,” says Jörg Weisflog, chairman of DEKOM AG (formerly ViDOFON AG).
