When DEKOM (formerly ViDOFON) CEO Jörg Weisflog found out about the Weltkinder project, he was immediately inspired. The idea was for German-speaking pupils around the world to meet and share their experiences by video conference. Without further ado, DEKOM (formerly ViDOFON) invited the project’s organiser, 10-year-old Katharina Krummel, to the company’s Hamburg office and presented her with a professional conferencing system. The ambitious pupil from Kayhude regularly meets with around 40 children from Germany, Austria and Switzerland by video conference. She is currently building a website for the Weltkinder project. Katharina and her comrades certainly need support, as they are still lacking hardware and accessories in places. DEKOM (formerly ViDOFON) is also providing a conference room for the children to use for their virtual meetings, and will help - where needed - with implementing the current projects.
